It's truly a sight. It's huge. A single glance at the front of the cathedral hardly does justice. It extends across an entire avenue. And, it's absolutely gorgeous. Cathedral of Saint John the Divine sits on 110th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, on the upper west side. Right now, it's partially gated off for renovations, but it still takes your breath away. Ahh, it is quite lovely. And perhaps what is so lovely about the rustic building, is that it rests right in the center of bustling Manhattan. It's like a slice of heaven (pun intended) in the middle of a madhouse. Even more darling about it, there appears to be this aura that surrounds the entire area, like a plea of tranquility to all passers-by who are in a hurry to get from 'A' to 'B.' It's like Saint John himself is saying: "Hey, you there, my dear... Slow down. Take a deep breath. Your destination will still be there when you arrive..."
