Adele
I can't get enough of her. I look at her and think: "50's Soul Sister." She appears short, 5'9", but she's taller than I am, and I am so obsessed with her bouffant hair, so sexy! Anyhoo, her recent hit, Rolling In the Deep, kickstarts my workouts. She's belting out words of a passionate love affair gone awry: "We could have had it all," but her voice is deep and sultry. Enjoy!

Photoshopping is FUN!
Thanks, Nicole, for sharing such cool things! Last week she posted this website, Rollip. It's a website embracing the dynamism of photographs. Pick any feature you want, and upload. Naturally, I had some fun... :)
The Happiness Project
Such a great upper for 2011. If you haven't read this book, get to it! I've been in a clean-up and clean-out mood over the last few weeks. I have this book to thank for pushing the envelope just a bit. Plus, it's time to make some positive lifestyle changes. Thanks, Gretchen, for such a great piece of literature!
Return from the Dead?
I'll admit, I've been going through a bit of a funk here in the desert. This whole adulthood thing has thrown me for a loop. But, here is the latest from my end.
Dominated my first semester as an adjunct instructor at Mesa Community College. Props to me!
Accepted an instructor position in the Psych department. Woot!
Managed a trip to New York City to visit with some of my favorite gals and feed some of the withdrawals I've been having for the concrete jungle.
I submitted all of my PhD applications. Now, I get to sit. And wait. And pray.
I submitted my first student loan payment. Gulp.
I'm a proud car-owner. Merlot is getting her first car-wash tomorrow! Exciting!
I'm working with a research colleague to submit another research project! Yikes!
I'm drafting a Letter to the Editor, finally fulfilling a goal I set for myself many months ago. My, how time flies.
Finally, here's a cool website I was introduced to last week. SO amazing!
http://wefeelfine.org/
Basically, they surf the web for "feeling" words, then compile them in a really creative way on this website. Sure, there is a slight X-factor, but it's mostly PG-13 and really insightful.
Enjoy!

Love Letters. Big Ones.
Check out this website, ALoveLetterForYou.com...
This guy, Stephen Powers, joined with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program to bring some splash to suburbia... In a really sweet way.
Note to all studs, make a mural happen for your favorite gal pal and you'll win her over for good.

Bananas
I went as a banana for Halloween.
Ha! Then my gal pal Hayley let me borrow her gorilla hand. (Her costume was better than mine!)
Halloween 2011: Carrot.

Carved Up!
Ch-ch-ch-check it out!!!
So I went to a pumpkin patch yesterday and picked out a massive pumpkin. My guy is the goofy looking one in the middle with a huge smiley face. 7 bucks and it went to charity! Woot, woot! :) But really - check out the amazing pumpkins carved by my pals. They did a phenom job!
Happy Halloween!

Halloween is upon us.
In that spirit, check out this fun website, extremepumpkins.com. This guy is awesome. He has totally dedicated his life to pumpkin carving, because it's "something I enjoy," he said. Cool, huh??
Check out the contest winners from 2009...

I'm carving pumpkins with my pals tonight, but I highly doubt mine will measure up to these. I'm kinda psyched to see the contest winners for this year.
Happy Thursday!

Diamondbacks Game
This past weekend was my birthday weekend. (Happy Birthday to me!!) My sister decided it would be fun to take Baby Kate to her first baseball game... So, we did. We think she really enjoyed it! She was such a trooper!

Adulthood bites...
I've been having a hard time finding my groove. So, I graduated, moved home, and got a job. I'm up early in the morning, going to sleep early at night, and enjoying my evenings in. What happened to me? Sure I've taken the oh-so necessary outings with my pals to keep myself young and fresh, but it's rather unfortunate... That adulthood has slowly creeped upon me. I'm not sure how to navigate. Surely I'll find my niche, where exactly I fit in. (I actually just finished this book, "20 Something Manifesto." Great idea. Unfortunately I didn't get much out of it... I felt the author was just coming up with unique ways to say... "It's life. Deal with it." I mean really... Give me something tangible.) I feel good about the possibility that things will come around, but I'm in a lull.

Where is Matt??
My dear friend AmyJane sent this over to me this afternoon! I just love it!! This guy Matt traveled all over the world and created a record of his destinations, in a very sweet and creative way. Check it out!
*Update!! Visit his website: wherethehellismatt.com and sign up to be in one of his videos! (I totes did!) So cool! :)

Box Canyon
I went hiking with some pals yesterday! We took a drive up to Box Canyon, just north of Payson. So gorgeous. The canyon was so beautiful, and green! (Oh yes, we have some greenery in the desert!) More photos to come! :)
Mug Collection
(my first Quotables mug!)
My dear friend Jen surprised me with a lovely graduation gift! She gave me a Quotables mug. (This one.) I'm obsessed! I have a few other Quotables mugs, and I think it would be the coolest darn mug collection EVER. Ideally, I'd like a set of 8, as a standard for place settings... So I plan to keep shopping for them. Visit the website, it will make you smile.

Well, if you weren't sure...
This flow chart seems to help you figure it out... I think it would be kind of fun to frame and stick above your bathroom sink.

DailyCandy is giving away a free download of the new single, "Big Wave" by Jenny Lewis and Johnny Rice. I simply love their sound. Visit their site at jennyandjohnnymusic.com. I'm pretty sure you'll love!
