sunset season

one thing i absolutely adoreee about arizona - the sunsets. when monsoon season blows through, arizona sunsets are pretty wicked. with all the clouds peppering the sky, the sun creates this color palette that will truly take your breath away.

as i was walking uptown towards school last night, i looked down 57th street to see something truly amazing. perhaps because the sun was ushered through the buildings, i was taken slightly aback. a thunder storm had just blown through minutes before (which, ironically reminded me of arizona. storms in the city seem to come and sit on top of the island for days. in arizona, when people say: "we'll just wait until it lets up," they're serious. storms actually let up within a few minutes.)

anyhoo, some of my pals have been sending photos of arizona sunsets - maybe triggering a little nostalgia for the desert. but, my experience on 57th street rivaled that just a bit
