this morning on my way out the door, i plugged my head phones in and scurried to the subway. your vegas was blasting in my ears as i swiped my metro card. i headed towards the uptown platform. as i got to the bottom of the stairs, i looked both ways and proceeded to walk down to the other end. suddenly, i felt a tap on my shoulder. 

nice man (nm): excuse me, you dropped this in front of the camelot.

[the camelot is my apartment building uptown 1 block]

grateful lauren (gl): my cell phone!! oh my gosh! 

nm: yeah, that would have sucked!

gl: oh my gosh! thank you so much! i'm so appreciative!

nm: no problem, i'm going downtown, but figured i could get this to you first. i tried getting your attention but it looked like you had headphones. 

gl: yeah, playing waaaay too loud obviously! is there anything i can do, i'm so grateful!!

nm: nope! just have a good day!

gl: you just made my day! thanks so much!

lucky for me, good sam was on my side today.
