The Happiness Project

Such a great upper for 2011. If you haven't read this book, get to it! I've been in a clean-up and clean-out mood over the last few weeks. I have this book to thank for pushing the envelope just a bit. Plus, it's time to make some positive lifestyle changes. Thanks, Gretchen, for such a great piece of literature!

I had the wonderful opportunity to fly back East this past weekend and mingle with some of my fave gals, visit my old stomping ground, and fill myself with some of the most amazing food ever!

Mercury Bar, if you're a drinker at all, order a "Dirty Girl Scout." No X-factor here, it's just a mint-cookie flavored shot. 

Return from the Dead?

I'll admit, I've been going through a bit of a funk here in the desert. This whole adulthood thing has thrown me for a loop. But, here is the latest from my end.

Dominated my first semester as an adjunct instructor at Mesa Community College. Props to me!
Accepted an instructor position in the Psych department. Woot!
Managed a trip to New York City to visit with some of my favorite gals and feed some of the withdrawals I've been having for the concrete jungle.
I submitted all of my PhD applications. Now, I get to sit. And wait. And pray.
I submitted my first student loan payment. Gulp.
I'm a proud car-owner. Merlot is getting her first car-wash tomorrow! Exciting!
I'm working with a research colleague to submit another research project! Yikes!
I'm drafting a Letter to the Editor, finally fulfilling a goal I set for myself many months ago. My, how time flies.

Finally, here's a cool website I was introduced to last week. SO amazing!

Basically, they surf the web for "feeling" words, then compile them in a really creative way on this website. Sure, there is a slight X-factor, but it's mostly PG-13 and really insightful.
